Any help is appreciated. Message 4 of 5. A sample circuit is shown below in which the Inverting Terminal is set to 2. I tried adding in a transistor with a 1k resistor to ground and a TTL signal at the base as per the datasheet and this doesn’t disable dataaheet output either.
Any Op-Amp can be made to work as a voltage comparator, but the LM proves itself to be advantages by housing an Output Transistor inside its package.
Message 1 of datasheett. Message 3 of 5. Attached is a Multisim file with every comparator with a strobe datashedt available in Multisim and a picture of the circuit. An Emitter Output Circuit is shown below. Could the component model be the issue? Most Active Software Km311n All of those comparator outputs should be a high state which means the LED will turn on connected through the 1K resistor to Vcc.
The output is correct as seen on the scope. TL — Programmable Reference Voltage. The simplified schematics of the IC is shown below:. I built a simple circuit using the LMN comparator. Normally these pins are not used since the Input Offset itself is much better controlled. As grounding unused pins is a practice on electronics, I guess it was the way of the designer datashet make sure the device was not disabled for a ground wired to that pin.

LMN Comparator with Strobe – Discussion Forums – National Instruments
I just built the circuit in real life and it works exactly as I thought, putting GND on the strobe pin makes the output a constant state at Vcci. The transistor can also make the Load to be isolated from the system ground, so if you are looking for a Voltage comparator to drive loads of these specifications then this IC might be the right choice for you.
The problem is that the strobe pin is not working for the model. LMN Comparator with Strobe.
Multisim and Ultiboard
The simplified schematics of the IC is shown below: You can refer the other possible circuits from the LM datasheet given at bottom. If the voltage at the Non-Inverting Terminal pin 2 is higher than the Inverting Terminal pin 2the output pin 7 will also be high else the datashdet will be low.
This pin is connected to the ground of the system Negative voltage can also be used. According to the datasheet, if you tie the strobe pin to GND then the output should be disabled.
LM Pinout, Pin Configuration, Specifications, Equivalent, Working & Datasheet
The problem is that tying the strobe pin to ground should make the output stop changing, dataasheet it isn’t. Why is it not working in Multisim?
Message 5 of 5. The pins 5 and 6 on the Op-amp are used to set the balance voltage if you want to manually adjust the DC-Offset voltage.
I expect the output to oscillate between 0 and 1 at the “zero crossing” of the signal. You can note that the Output voltage stays high when pin 2 has higher voltage than pin 7 and vice versa.
The LM can work on a Single supply voltage or in a dual supply mode. When not in use the pins 5 and 6 should be shorted as shown above. Submitted by admin on 6 March
