The good news is that Les Thanatonautes is but the first novel of a long series so when you come to the ending, don’t be too sad, there are many more stories to come. Unfortunately, the book is boring to read, though it would probably make a good manga or something like this. Everything is written so clinically, so devoid of enthusiasm.
My first warning should have been slightly archaic vocabulary and patronising style, but I brushed it off as part of the convention Quotes from Les Thanatonautes. So, I don’t think it’s a bad book, it’s just not for me. This book is not as beautifully written as other books of Bernard Werber and is not as interesting bernarv read, but it sure brings up more complex and important questions. It makes you really think about life and death.

I didn’t want to leave it unfinished, but there was no catharsis nor amusement involved; only short moments of enjoyment most of them featuring Raoul and satisfaction from being able to shut it forever. Though I was keen on Werber’s idea of afterlife, I became disheartened halfway through his book. I doubt I’ll be able to venture though the second part of the cycle if I ever return to this author.

You want to root for characters, not want to kill them. Nie rozumiem, dlaczego B. White tunnels, meeting friends who have died, dazzling light. Shallow plotline, paper-cut characters, naive portrayal of society, distasteful conclusions and poor style sum up this position for me.

The main character, Michael, is so passive and spiritless, I found werbfr hard to keep reading the story through his eyes. I would like to be friends with one of the scientist, Michel, the main character, because he is very smart and led in weird topics such as death. Tad skaityti net nebaigiau.
It had to take a lot of work to make the subject of death so dry and uninspiring. At first, the afterlife appeared to be captivating if only a patchwork of other people’s ideas.
