However this did decrease throughout the trilogy from almost every page in the Sword of Shanarra to quite a bit less in the Elfstones of Shanarra to only a couple times in the Wishsong of Shanarra.

It’s just an observa This was a great trilogy. He is a master. His was the first manuscript to cross a certain editor’s desk after Lord of shannwra Rings emerged from its counter-cultural shell and began to carve out a new genre in fiction. Ok not the demons but they are necessary for the story. If you can force yourself to sit through the first half of the book, the rest of it is awesome! Allanon, the mysterious and secretive Druid, was interesting from the start, acting as the Gandalf of the trilogy, but so very different in his methods and personality.
He is close to being my favorite character of magiceh trilogy, though that title doesn’t really belong to any specific character.

Loveable characters, mysterious characters, characters to despise.

I thought that the third story was going to be basically a repetition of the first story when it began, and it kinda jokes about that, but it does branch off and it makes more sense as it goes on. And rejoicing at the familar ‘good wins’ type of ending. The world of the Four Lands was fascinating to learn about and see through the eyes of the characters. The tie in between the books kept the story going from shananra to the other.
Like many of my favorites from younger days, reading them now allows me to see things I missed and understand characters a little better. If by adult you mean sex, then no.
Why do I like it so much? The Sword is your pretty much standard at times silly hero with a sword fantasy. More by Terry Brooks. This time I noticed that Terry Brooks seemed to like the word awesome alot.
Brooks’s cast is smaller. I have extremely high expectations, which I realisticly expect to be crushed. I’m using this as a review for the entire trilogy. The use of awesome did not distract from the story at all and I mean nothing negative by it.

Wonderful This was just as great as the first time I read them when they were first released. Magich Preview See a Problem? I D and F this book. The first book is a little heavier in the poetre and skips along a little bit at first, while the other two books are heavier on the descriptions, although not TOO heavy. I probably should not have put this in as all three books, but this is the version I was re-reading, so you get what you get.

Throughout the trilogy, the Shannara descendants are constantly at odds with how to use their magic properly, and wondering how it would affect them and that’s a really interesting concept to me seeing how magic use can really mentally challenge a character.
Do you think the Tv series is better than the chronicles I haven’t read the books yet but I have to the show is great it’s better than Lord of the rings and even Harry Potter i am hoping the books are too? I discovered the TV show Shannara on Netflix, and quickly watched the entire season in about two days.
A quest and all it’s inherent dangers. What struck me the most was the character development. I do wish that some characters would’ve been fleshed out more, but being how long the books are already, I can understand why some of the characterization was forsaken, and I forgive Brooks of that.
