Today, I have no problem reading articles and text books at high speed and with comprehension. I didn’t make it all the way through this book but got some useful tips early on. Mar 16, Amy Hardison rated it it was amazing. In other words, the frustration that might occur early on because comprehension is low, is only temporary– if you keep practicing.
As far as I know, this is the premier text for speed-reading. So you don’t do reading exercises in lieu of other reading.
Instead of stressing complete comprehension, it stresses quick reading thru of rsading while active organizing how the material is arranged and structured. But I think there are better ways to describe why writing format is so important. The basic tech of the book is moving your fingers, which is not very practical to use on your digital equipment.
